- Liberty (3-0) and Carolina University (2-4) will square off for the second year in a row. Last year, the Flames bested the Bruins 81-45 in the home opener.
- Liberty posted a perfect 3-0 record last week, earning victories over both FAU (88-68 final) and Charleston (90-75 final) at the Field of 68 Tip-Off event at Liberty Arena to win the event. The Flames also knocked off KCU 98-57 in the season opener.
- Zach Cleveland was named Conference USA Player of the Week for the second time in his career for his efforts in those wins. Cleveland nearly averaged a triple-double (11.3 ppg, 10.0 rpg and 7.7 apg).
- Brett Decker Jr. is averaging 23.0 ppg and has knocked down 18 threes. He is No. 1 in the nation in threes per game (6.00).
- Decker Jr. led Liberty with 18 points last year against the Bruins.
- The Flames are shooting 47.8 percent from long distance and have made 43 threes.Kaden Metheny (17.3 ppg) is second on the team with 10 triples and had a Liberty career-high 28 points versus FAU.
- The Flames are shooting an impressive 57 percent from the field as well. Colin Porter (14.0 ppg) is connecting on 60.9 percent of his attempts, and JJ Harper (10.7 ppg, 12-of-15) has only missed three times.
- Liberty has 180 wins over the past seven-plus seasons, tied for sixth most in the nation during that span.
- The Flames lead the nation in effective field goal percentage (.690).
- In addition to leading the nation in effective field goal percentage, the Flames are No. 2 in the country in made threes per game (14.3), No. 4 in field goal percentage (57.0), No. 5 in three point percentage (47.8), No. 6 in assist/turnover ratio (2.42) and No. 10 in fewest turnovers per game (8.0).
- Liberty went 2-0 at the Field of 68 Tip-Off event at Liberty Arena, defeating Charleston and FAU by a combined 35 points. This was the third and final year of the event. The Flames finish the three-year event with a 3-3 event after winning each of their last three games in it.
- Cleveland (nine points, 10 rebounds, career-high 10 assists, career-high four steals) nearly notched a triple-double in the win over Florida Atlantic.
- Kaden Metheny scored 28 points against FAU, his most ever in a Liberty uniform.
- Decker Jr. scored a career-high 29 points versus KCU. His eight threes in that game are tied for the third most in a single contest in program history.
- The Flames are currently No. 81 in the nation in the KenPom rankings.
- This will be Liberty's second straight year playing on Nov. 17 and 12th all-time game on this date. Last year, the Flames topped Charleston 68-47 on this date in a road game at the Field of 68 Tip-Off event. The win was Liberty's first at the event. The Liberty defense turned in a dominant defensive effort, holding Charleston to 21.4 percent shooting in the second half.
- This past week, the Flames have announced the addition of two signees - four-star Eli Sancomb (Wheeling, W.Va.) and three-star Eli Herbert (Grain Valley, Mo.). Sancomb is currently ranked as the No. 101 prospect in the Class of 2026 by 247Sports, the highest. He is also the No. 117 prospect nationally, as ranked by On3. Sancomb was named the 2025 West Virginia Gatorade Player of the Year. For his junior season, he averaged 25.8 points, 10.5 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 2.6 steals while shooting 54.4 percent from the field, 36 percent from three-point territory and 84.8 percent from the free throw line. Herbert is a 6-4 guard and averaged 24.3 points, 5.4 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 2.0 steals per game during his junior season while shooting 88 percent from the free throw line and making 73 threes.
