
Guistwite Signs with Men’s Tennis for 2026-27 Season

LYNCHBURG, Va. – Liberty men's tennis head coach Derek Schwandt has announced the signing of Owen Guistwite, a Carlisle, Pa., native who will join the team beginning in the 2026 fall season.
"It is an honor to welcome Owen to our team,' Schwandt said. "He will add tremendous value on and off the court in our mission to train Champions for Christ. Owen is a gritty competitor and strong athlete who loves the game."
Guistwite is a five-star recruit according to tennisrecruiting.net and ranks as the No. 65 overall athlete in the 2026 recruiting class. The Pennsylvania native is the second-ranked recruit from his home state. He will represent the third five-star recruit on the 2026-27 roster, joining Benjamin Sparks and Chase Robinson.
The signing currently sports a No. 505 junior singles ranking (475 career high). Guistwite also carries an 11.65 singles UTR ranking and an 18.9 WTN. (World Tennis Number).
Guistwite has won a single ITF Juniors title, winning the J100 Quebec City Doubles Tournament with Theo Hegarty. He owns an 18-12 singles record and a 10-8 doubles mark in ITF tournaments. He is also 11-1 against four-star recruits and 7-11 against five-star athletes.
