EL PASO, Texas - UTEP completed a weekend sweep of the visiting Liberty Lady Flames, with the Miners winning in straight sets (25-23, 25-21, 25-12), Saturday at Memorial Gymnasium.
UTEP (14-2) maintains a perfect 4-0 record in Conference USA play and is tied atop CUSA standings with New Mexico State and WKU after two conference weekends. The Lady Flames fall to 14-3, 2-2 in conference play. Liberty brought a 10-match winning streak into the weekend.

The Lady Flames will host Kennesaw State at Liberty Arena, Friday at 6 p.m. and Saturday at 1 p.m. Liberty will honor its volleyball alumni during the weekend. Â Â

- UTEP outhit Liberty .333-.106. The Miners also led in kills (41-31), aces (4-2), digs (31-27) and blocks (11-4).
- Kaya Weaver led the Miners with 11 kills and match-high three aces, hitting .562. Luvina Oguntimehin registered eight kills (.417) and registered four blocks. Danika Washington posted a match-leading six blocks. Mattie Gantt dished out a match-high 19 assists, while Fuka Sekita collected 10 digs to lead all players.
- Jenna Otts sent down a match-high 13 kills for Liberty, followed by nine kills by Carly O'Brien. Paige Overcash posted a team-high three blocks, while Alison Bierwagen recorded one kill, 18 assists and five digs.
- The Lady Flames tied set one, 22-22, after a 4-0 Liberty run which featured three O'Brien kills. However, service errors on each of Liberty's next two serves sealed the 25-23 set in UTEP's favor.
- The Miners pulled away to win both set two (25-21) and set three (25-12) to complete the sweep.Â
- UTEP is now 8-0 all-time against Liberty in volleyball, with all seven wins coming since Liberty joined CUSA prior to the 2023 season.
