MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - In a back-and-forth match, Middle Tennessee earned a 3-2 (25-17, 20-25, 24-26, 27-25, 15-13) win over Liberty, Friday at Alumni Memorial Gymnasium.
With the win, the Blue Raiders (10-9, 2-5 CUSA) snap their five-match conference losing streak. Meanwhile, the Lady Flames (15-5, 3-4) have dropped their last two matches, both by five-set finals.

The Lady Flames and Blue Raiders face each other again tomorrow at 2 p.m. Eastern (1 p.m. Central).

- For the match, MT outhit Liberty, .236-.211. The Blue Raiders also led in kills (67-60) and digs (71-51), while the Lady Flames held the advantage in aces (8-5) and blocks (11-8).
- Raegan Durbin scored a match-high 24 kills for the Blue Raiders, followed by 19 kills by Gabrielle Clinkscale and 10 by Michaela Dlouha, who also recorded six blocks. Caroline Macander registered 53 assists, 16 digs and three blocks. Isil Yilmaz collected a match-high 20 digs, while MacKenna Poole totaled 11 digs.
- Carly O'Brien (13 kills, 12 digs) and Jenna Otts (13 kills, three blocks) tied for the Liberty lead in kills, while Paige Overcash scored 11 kills and recorded four blocks. Charli Crowson dished out 26 assists, while Alison Bierwagen posted a double-double with 21 assists and 11 digs. Aubrey Acheson collected 10 digs.
- Liberty had two match-point tries during the fourth set, at 24-23 and again at 25-24. Middle Tennessee tied the match both times, before securing the 27-25 win.
- The Lady Flames battled back from a 10-6 deficit in set five, tying it at 10-10 on a kill by Layla Collins. Clinkscale scored MT's next four points during a 4-2 run. Durbin's error made it 14-13, but Durbin then atoned for the error by scoring the match-clinching kill.
- Middle Tennessee leads the all-time series against Liberty in volleyball, 5-2.
- The Lady Flames are now 6-2 in five-set matches this season. Middle Tennessee is 2-2 in five-set contests.
- Liberty is 12-8 in sets decided by two points and 4-3 in extended sets this season.
