9/5/2024 2:57:00 PM | Track and Field
LYNCHBURG, Va. – Liberty Director of Track & Field and Cross Country Lance Bingham announced his program's 2024-25 indoor track & field schedule on Thursday. The home-heavy slate includes six competitions at the Brant Tolsma Indoor Track at the Liberty Indoor Track Complex.
The 2024-25 schedule is nearly identical to the 2023-24 season, with the lone exception being the addition of the Bob Pollock Invitational (Jan. 31-Feb. 1 in Clemson, S.C.) in place of the Dr. Sander Invitational/Columbia Challenge.
The Flames will host the Liberty Kickoff (Dec. 5-6), fifth annual Brant Tolsma Invitational (Jan. 23-25), Liberty Open (Feb. 7-8), 11th annual Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational (Feb. 14-15) and 2025 CUSA Indoor Track & Field Championships (Feb. 28-March 1). Liberty will also compete at its home facility on Jan. 10 at The Burg Open, a meet hosted by the University of Lynchburg.
Liberty will host its indoor track & field conference championship meet for the eighth year in a row as the Flames and Lady Flames attempt to defend their CUSA titles from 2024.
Liberty's biggest travel weekend will be Jan. 31-Feb. 1 when some athletes head north (Penn State National Open in University Park, Pa.) and others head south (Bob Pollock Invitational in Clemson, S.C.)
For the first time, the NCAA Division I Indoor Track & Field Championships will be contested in Virginia. The meet is set for March 14-15 at the Virginia Beach Sports Center in Virginia Beach, Va.
