Women’s Tennis Adds Yuyun Chen to 2024-25 Roster

LYNCHBURG, Va. – Liberty women's tennis and Head Coach Dash Connell have announced the signing of Yuyun Chen as a freshman signing to the 2024-25 class. Chen joins a freshman class with Anika Lemus and Yoanna Radulova.
Chen is the first signing for Connell who was hired to be Liberty's newest head coach this summer. She hails from Kaohsiung City, Taiwan where she participated in multiple high-level tournaments.
The incoming freshman currently carries a 9.32 UTR (Universal Tennis Rating) and achieved a rating as high as 10.17 in Nov. 2023. Chen owns a 16.3 World Tennis Number and an ITF Women's Ranking of 976. She ranked as high as No. 343 in Oct. 2023.
As a junior player, Chen owned a 29-6 record, an 83 percent win rate, in ITF sponsored events. She held a 23-4 mark in hard-surface court matches.
She has participated and won multiple tennis tournaments in Asia including the G4 Ho Chi Minh City, the G4 Hong Kong and the G5 Jakarta.
