- This will be the first-ever meeting between the Flames and Blue Raiders.
- Sophomore Zach Cleveland was tabbed the CUSA Player of the Week on Monday. Cleveland averaged 20.5 ppg, 7.0 apg, 5.5 rpg, 2.0 bpg and 1.5 spg against New Mexico State and UTEP. The sophomore also shot 63.2 percent (12-of-19) from the field and 77.3 percent (17-of-22) from the foul line.
- The Flames won 67-65 at UTEP on Saturday night for their first-ever CUSA road victory. The Blue Raiders are coming off an 88-65 setback at Western Kentucky.
- Liberty brings an 8-2 home record into the game, while MTSU (0-6) is looking for its first road win.
The Flames are among the top 25 teams in the nation in three-pointers per game (No. 7, 10.5), assist/turnover ratio (No. 9, 1.73), Â fewest turnovers per game (No. 16, 9.6) and scoring defense (No. 25, 64.5) . The Flames lead CUSA in all but one of these categories (No. 2 in league in scoring defense). - Kaden Metheny is coming off a strong weekend in which he averaged 18.5 ppg, 5.0 rpg and 2.0 spg at New Mexico State and UTEP. He scored 21 points, his most in a Liberty uniform, at UTEP. Metheny leads the Flames with 18 double-digit scoring games this season.
- Four of Liberty's next six games will be at home.Â
- Liberty is No. 118 in the NCAA Men's Basketball NET Rankings. The Flames are No. 107 in the KenPom out of 362 Division I teams. MTSU is No. 302 in the NET and No. 287 in the KenPom.
- This will be Liberty's 14th all-time game on this date. The Flames hold a 6-7 all-time mark on Feb. 8 and have won two straight games on this date. Liberty last played on this date two years ago (2022), a 78-69 home victory over Lipscomb. Darius McGhee recorded his first career double-double with 29 points and 10 assists to go alon g with eight rebounds. Kyle Rode  scored 24 points in the game.Â
