LYNCHBURG, Va. – For the second year in a row, Liberty All-American Warren Barrett will throw the shot put at the NCAA Division I Indoor Track & Field Championships, it was announced on Tuesday.
This year's meet will take place at the TRACK at New Balance in Boston, Mass., March 7-9. The men's shot put is scheduled for March 9 at 2:45 p.m. and will air on ESPN+.
A redshirt senior from Montego Bay, Jamaica, Barrett recorded a season-best mark of 63-6 at the Penn State National Open on Jan. 27. That is tied with Northwestern State's Djimon Gumbs for 13th best among the event's 16 Boston qualifiers.
Barrett has not lost to a collegiate competitor this season, including four victories and a runner-up finish to a post-collegiate athlete at the Penn State National Open. Most recently, Barrett recorded a dominating first-place finish at the CUSA Indoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday, winning by 6.5 feet with his 61-2 effort.
Barrett earned second team All-America honors by placing 15th in the men's shot put (59-3) at the 2023 NCAA Division I Indoor Track & Field Championships in Albuquerque, N.M.
