New ASUN outdoor women's pole vault record holder Taylen Langin has been honored as ASUN Women's Field Athlete of the Week.
A senior from Meridian, Idaho, Langin is the Women's Field Athlete of the Week for the second time this season (also March 29) and the third time in her career. She won Group A of the women's pole vault at the Bryan Clay Invitational, Saturday in Azusa, Calif., with a lifetime-best clearance of 13-9.25.
That effort broke the ASUN Conference all-time record of 13-7.25 which had stood for four years and ranks No. 2 in program history. Langin is currently tied for No. 18 nationally this season.
Langin will next compete at the Virginia Challenge, slated for Thursday through Saturday in Charlottesville, Va. Other Flames and Lady Flames will remain in the Hill City for Randolph College's WildCat Twilight, Friday and Saturday.
