Vrbo Fiesta Bowl Blog: Day 4

The Flames' full team was celebrated throughout the day on Saturday as we inch closer to No. 23 Liberty's New Year's Day matchup against No. 8 Oregon in this year's Vrbo Fiesta Bowl.

The game will be played at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Ariz., on Monday, January 1, 2024, and the game will be broadcast on ESPN and LFSN Radio. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET/11 a.m. MT.

Liberty (13-0, 8-0 CUSA) is making its fifth-straight bowl game appearance and the program's first-ever appearance in a New Year's Six bowl game.

Liberty, winners of the Conference USA championship, has posted a 3-1 record in its previous bowl games. The Flames have appeared in a bowl game each year the program could be bowl eligible since moving up to the FBS level (FBS transition year in 2018; first year of bowl eligibility in 2019).

Saturday was Media Day for the Flames at Camelback Inn, which included Liberty Head Coach Jamey Chadwell's first full press conference of the week. Additionally, all 112 players on Liberty's dress list for the Vrbo Fiesta Bowl were made available to the media.

Liberty also held its final full practice before the New Year's Six bowl game following the media session. While the Flames were working out at the Tempe Diablo Park again, Flames Nation continued to make its way across the country to Phoenix.

Three additional planes brought Flames Club members, Liberty cheerleaders and the Spirit of the Mountain marching band to the Valley of the Sun on Saturday.

Upon their arrival, the Spirit of the Mountain marching band and Liberty cheerleaders led a spirited pep rally for the football team in the courtyard at the Scottsdale Plaza Resort.

The Flames will start their Sunday morning with a church service from the Scottsdale Plaza Resort before getting their first look at State Farm Stadium with a walk thru practice on Sunday.
