The best start in school history has the Flames back in the national rankings as Liberty is ranked No. 25 in this week's Associate Press national football poll.
    Â
Last night, Liberty knocked off CUSA foe Louisiana Tech, 56-30, during Homecoming Weekend to move to 9-0 on the season and 7-0 in conference play.
    Â
The 9-0 start is the best in program history and has Liberty as one of seven remaining unbeaten FBS teams in the country.
    Â
Liberty has received votes in the Associated Press each of the last three weeks. The Flames have now been in the national top 25 poll during three out of the last four seasons.
    Â
In total, Liberty has been nationally ranked 11 weeks by the Associated Press since the 2020 season and nine weeks in the AFCA Coaches poll.
    Â
Liberty was the fifth team outside of the top 25 rankings in the AFCA Coaches Poll, receiving 50 votes this week. The Flames have received votes in the Coaches Poll six out of the last seven weeks.
    Â
Last year, Liberty was ranked No. 23 in both polls on Oct. 30 and No. 19 after its upset win over Arkansas, the program's first-ever victory over a SEC program.
    Â
Liberty's highest national ranking was following the 2020 season when Liberty was ranked No. 17 in the final Associated Press poll and No. 18 in the last Coaches Poll.
