Liberty's Kaidon Salter is one of 17 players under consideration for national Player of the Year honors as the Flames' starting quarterback has been named a semifinalist for the 2023 Maxwell Award.
The award, now in its 87th year, is presented to the Outstanding Player in College Football. This year's strong field of Maxwell Award semifinalists includes representatives from six conferences, with the SEC boasting six candidates each and the Big Ten and Big 12 notching three spots each. Caleb Williams (USC), the 2022 Maxwell Award winner, leads this class of candidates which features 11 quarterbacks, three wide receivers, two running backs and one tight end.
