
Prentice Wins VertKlasse Men's 800 Title

Competing in his first outdoor 800-meter race since 2018, Liberty redshirt senior Bradley Prentice captured the VertKlasse Meeting title on a cool, windy Friday at Vert Stadium.
The Flames' outdoor men's 800 record holder (1:48.70), Prentice redshirted the 2019 season before the 2020 campaign was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. On Friday, he led from wire to wire, clocking a time of 1:52.51 to defeat runner-up Siro Pina Cardona of High Point by more than two seconds.
In the women's 800, Heidi Tillman posted a season-best time of 2:18.43 to place second in her heat and fifth of 56 entrants overall.
