Liberty Athletics is currently in its first month as a member of the ASUN Conference. LFSN Game On's video series introducing Flames fans to ASUN member institutions continues today with New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT).
NJIT, located in Newark, N.J., was established in 1881 and currently sponsors 19 NCAA Division I sports. The Highlanders joined the ASUN Conference in 2015.
NJIT opened the brand-new 3,500 seat NJIT Wellness & Events Center prior to the beginning of the 2017-18 basketball seasons. The facility will host the NJIT volleyball, men's and women's basketball and swimming & diving programs.
Prior to joining the ASUN, the NJIT men's basketball team upset No. 16 Michigan, 72-70, on the road in Ann Arbor, Mich., on Dec. 6, 2014.
July 1 marked Liberty Athletics' first official day as a member of the ASUN Conference.
