For the second week in a row, Liberty's Alex Probert has been named the Big South Special Teams Player of the Week.
The sophomore has tallied 16 points in each of Liberty's two games in 2017, helping the Flames to their first 2-0 start to a season since 2010.
This past weekend, Probert helped the Flames post a 58-17 win over Morehead State during Liberty's home opener. The native of Andover, Minn. connected on all three of his field goal attempts (33, 37 and 38 yards) and all seven extra point attempts.
During Liberty's season-opening win over Baylor, Probert tied a school record with four field goals and knocked down four extra points.
Two games into the season, the sophomore remains perfect having connected on 7-of-7 on field goal attempts and 11-of-11 on extra points.
Probert's 16 points against Morehead State pushed the sophomore over the 100-career point mark (110) and he is now averaging 8.46 points per game during his career. He has scored 10 or more points in seven of 13 career games at Liberty.
Probert and the Flames will close out a two-game homestand this weekend when they host Indiana State at Williams Stadium. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m.
