The Vision Statement and the Mission Statement for the Liberty Flames football team drives the entire program's focus, both on and off the field of competition.
The Mission Statement of the Liberty football program reads "To inspire each other to glorify Christ on and off the field, while striving to be conference and national champions."
Liberty football's Mission Statement is comprised of an acronym from the word "B.E.L.I.E.V.E.":
Building Champions for Christ
Empower people by encouragement
Learn and press on toward the goal
Influence by being a positive role model
Expect great effort all the time
Visualize excellence
Enjoy the college football experience
During the offseason, Liberty Flames Sports Network Game On reporters talked with senior linebackers Miles Hunter and Zach Schreiber and All-Big South sophomore punter Trey Turner about how these statements challenge their daily interactions in the locker room.
Additionally, Liberty Football utilizes a "Whole – Person Development" philosophy, training the players within their program spiritually, socially, athletically and academically. Below is a breakdown of the components for the program's "Whole – Person Development" philosophy.
Spiritual
To foster growth through spiritual and biblical character development
Social
To appropriate positive interaction with fellow students, faculty and the community
Athletic
To prepare physically and mentally to compete on the playing field
Academic
To acquire an education for life after football
