FCS Coaches Poll
A last-second field goal lifted James Madison to a three-point victory over Liberty, Saturday evening, inside of Williams Stadium.
The three-point kick decided the victor in one of the nation's two FCS Top 25 match-ups and dropped Liberty three spots in both FCS national polls.
Liberty is now ranked No. 23 in the latest FCS Coaches poll and the first team outside the Sports Network/Fathead.com Top 25 listing following this weekend's slate of FCS competition.
The Flames were one of six Top 25 programs to fall this past weekend, including defending national champion Eastern Washington, who fell to 0-3 on the year after a 17-14 setback to Montana in the other Top 25 match-up.
Georgia Southern remains the No. 1 program in the country in both FCS Top 25 polls, followed by No. 2 Northern Iowa, No. 3 Appalachian State and No. 4 Montana State. The first time the two polls deviate from each other is at No. 5, with Richmond holding the distinction in the Sports Network poll and William & Mary claiming the spot in the FCS Coaches poll.
With its 27-24 victory over the Flames, James Madison moved up to the No. 12 spot in the Sports Network poll and No. 10 according to the FCS Coaches listing.
For the second week in a row, Liberty will square off against a Top 25 ranked foe, when the Flames make their first-ever trek to Bethlehem, Pa., to square off against Lehigh.
The Mountain Lions are currently listed at No. 15 in the Sports Network poll and No. 16 in the latest FCS Coaches listing. Kickoff inside of Goodman Stadium is slated for 12:30 p.m.
