Head coach Danny Rocco held his weekly press conference for the local Lynchburg media earlier today in the Donor Room of the Williams Football Operations Center.
During the 30-minute meeting with the media, Rocco looked back at Liberty's 63-27 Homecoming victory over No. 20 Coastal Carolina and looked ahead at this week's road game at Charleston Southern.
The Flames have now won 13-straight Big South games at home inside of Williams Stadium. Liberty's last loss against a Big South team at home was on Oct. 21, 2006, falling 27-24 to Gardner-Webb in head coach Danny Rocco's first-ever league game. During the 13-game home winning streak against Big South foes, the Flames are outscoring opponents by an average of 29.6 points per game (47.5 PF/17.9 PA).
Liberty will take to the road this weekend when they face the Buccaneers of Charleston Southern in a Saturday afternoon contest at CSU Stadium.
The series between the Buccaneers and the Flames is the longest running current series in program history. The two teams have met on the gridiron each year since 1993, a run that spans 18 seasons. Liberty had controlled the series since its inception, having won 16 out of the 18 meetings.
Liberty has never lost to the Buccaneers under head coach Danny Rocco, having won its last five meetings with Charleston Southern by an average of 25.4 points per game.
