FSN Radio Expands Listener Coverage
2/10/2010 12:00:00 AM
Flames fans in Virginia's Tidewater Region, Eastern North Carolina and the Raleigh/Durham area can now listen to Flames Sports Network (FSN) broadcasts on the radio thanks to recent expansion of the Victory Radio Network. The increase in coverage, which gives FSN over 2.6 million potential listeners, includes four full power stations in North Carolina – 88.3 FM (Elizabeth City), 91.1 FM (Roanoke Rapids), 94.3 FM (Norlina) and 90.5 FM (Zebulon), as well as nine additional translators in Virginia and the Tar Heel State.
FSN is comprised of Liberty's radio and television networks. FSN has covered Liberty's athletics teams for the last 29 years, traveling to over 30 states, and traveling outside the continental United States to areas such as Alaska, Hawaii, Mexico and Puerto Rico.
Liberty athletics events have been broadcast over the radio airways since 1981, when the Flames Sports Network was formed. Jerry Edwards was selected to handle play-by-play duties for the football and men's basketball programs, a position he maintains to this day.
The radio portion of FSN broadcasts on the Victory Radio Network with Lynchburg's WRVL 88.3 FM serving as the flagship station. The network's coverage includes the entire state of Virginia, as well as parts of North Carolina.
