As Liberty closes out its week between football contests, LibertyFlames.com correspondents Alan York and Nick Pierce had a chance to sit down with head coach Danny Rocco and each of the program's coordinators during this bye week.
Today, Pierce had a chance to catch up with special teams coordinator Marshall Roberts, who is currently in his second year of overseeing this area.
The Flames are coming off one of their stronger special teams efforts last weekend at VMI. Punter Mike Larsson had a career day, recording five punts for 232 yards and averaging 46.4 yard per punt.
Matt Bevins, who was a consensus first-team All-America kicker last year, finished the game 2-of-2, including his 40-yard field goal of the season (42 yards). The pair of kicks gave Bevins 43 field goals for his career, which is tied for the program record with Daniel Whitehead (1991-94).
In the return game, Liberty currently ranks No. 24 nationally in punt returns (12.33 yards per return) and B.J. Hayes individually ranks No. 25 by averaging 10.45 yards per return.
