Liberty Athletics Hall of Fame

Jessica Moore
- Induction:
- 2022
- Class:
- 2007
Softball: 2005-07
Jessica Moore set standards future softball players will be chasing for years to come during a record-setting three-year career with Liberty after transferring from Charlotte.
Arguably the best hitter in program history, Moore became the program’s first All-American in 2007 when she was named to the Easton Fastpitch All-America second team. At her induction, Moore still held 16 programs records and as of 2026 remains the program’s all-time career leader in batting average (.419), grand slams (7), slugging percentage (.848) and on-base plus slugging (OPS) percentage (1.363). She also ranks in the program’s career top 10 in home runs (58), RBI (141), runs (191) and hits (229).
Moore helped the Lady Flames post their second 40-plus win season in 2006 (41-23) and led Liberty to the Big South regular season title in 2007, a season that included three wins over Top 25 teams. Moore was a two-time Big South Player of the Year (2005 and 2007) and was twice selected the VaSID State Player of the Year (2006 and 2007).
The native of Chesapeake, Va., played professionally for the Washington Glory for two seasons following her playing career before returning to Liberty’s program in 2010 and 2011 as an assistant coach.
