A veteran of the athletics department, Mickey Guridy has 30-plus years of service at Liberty University and currently serves as the Senior Associate Athletics Director for Event Management, Facilities, Personnel, and Chief Diversity Officer, a position he was promoted to in July 2007.
In his role, Guridy oversees various areas of the athletics department, human resources, event management, athletic facilities, and football scheduling. He also serves as the sport supervisor for men’s basketball and baseball.
Guridy works closely with the University administration to ensure facilities are maintained and upgraded. During his tenure, he has been heavily involved in the construction of new athletics facilities, including the Williams Stadium expansion, Vines Center practice facility, Osborne Stadium, Liberty Baseball Stadium, Liberty Softball Stadium, Clarkson Clubhouse, Liberty Athletics Center, Liberty Football Center, Liberty Indoor Practice Facility, Liberty Arena and the Liberty Indoor Tennis Facility.
Prior to his current role, Guridy served as the Assistant Athletic Director for Business Operations from July 2005 to November 2005, before being named Interim Director of Athletics from November 2005 to February 2006.
During his tenure at Liberty, he has also served three years as Assistant Athletic Director for Football Operations (2002-04), five years as Assistant Athletic Director for Budget and Marketing (1997-2001) and four years as the ticket office manager and executive director of the Flames Club (1993-96).
While working with the football program as the Director of Operations, Guridy was responsible for the football budget, scheduling, team travel and training camp organization, while also working closely with the athletics department's marketing department to further the promotion of the Flames' football team.
A native of Mechanicsville, Va., Guridy completed his bachelor’s degree in sport management in 1993 from Liberty University and completed his master's degree in business administration at Averett College in September 2000.
Guridy and his wife, Erin, have three sons: Sam (20), Abe (19), and Levi (15), and reside in the Lynchburg area.
