Elizabeth Creasy joined the Liberty Athletics staff in August 2021 as Associate Director of Aquatics at the Liberty Natatorium. She works closely with the women’s swimming & diving program as well as the men’s club swimming and triathlon club teams. She manages a staff of 18 student workers and is responsible for all events that happen in the Natatorium.
She has been involved with Liberty women’s swimming & diving program since the beginning. She was responsible for running the Meet Management system in the early days when the program was in LaHaye. As the program grew and facilities changed, Elizabeth was instrumental in Liberty hosting the CCSA Conference Championships in 2019 and again in 2021 and 2022.
Elizabeth graduated in 1998 from Emory & Henry College with a Bachelor of Arts in History and a minor in Appalachian Studies. Upon graduating from college, she was an Aquatics Director for the Town of Galax Parks & Recreation department, where she taught Learn-to-Swim classes, coached a developmental swim team, taught water fitness and managed two pools.
In 2000, she moved home (Bedford, VA) and began a career with the YMCA. She spent her last 20 years as an Aquatics Director at the Bedford Area Family YMCA. While there, she was instrumental in growing the importance of swimming and the benefits of water in the Bedford community, whether through group or individualized lessons, adaptive lessons, swim teams or water fitness.
She has been married to Richard Creasy for 20 years. They have three children—Jagger (17), Jade (14), and Marlon (12). In her spare time, she will be seen at middle school and high school sports cheering on her kids, running, or volunteering at local swim meets.
