Caroline Shiery assumed her role as Assistant Student-Athlete Development & Engagement Coordinator in Aug. 2026. In her current role, she works with the Liberty golf and men’s tennis programs and assists with student-athlete development & engagement.
Prior to her current role, Shiery was a member of the Liberty women’s basketball team for four seasons (2022-23 through 2025-26). She earned the CUSA Winter Spirit of Service Award this past April. The award honors student-athletes with significant community service endeavors, good academic standing and participation in their sport. The Spirit of Service Award is presented three times throughout the season, and recipients are nominated by their institutions. Shiery completed more than 250 community service honors with opportunities such as Dollar Makes a Difference, Trick or Treat so Others Can Eat, Hop on Pop, Learn Like Liberty, Literacy Pep Rally, Amazing Mile, Bingo at Runk and Pratt, ASPIRE Class, Hawaiian mission trip outreach, Haiti mission trip, Israel mission trip and Liberty Women's Basketball kids clinics.
Shiery made 22 appearances during her four seasons with the Lady Flames, serving as a team captain during the 2025-26 campaign. She was also a three-time CUSA Commissioner’s Honor Roll recipient and an ASUN Academic Honor Roll recipient.
Shiery earned a bachelor’s degree in strategic communication from Liberty in May 2026. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in strategic communication with a cognate in crisis management, which she expects to complete in May 2028.
Originally from Harrisburg, Pa., Shiery currently resides in Lynchburg.
