What made Liberty University the right place for you to attend college/compete at the collegiate level?
The environment is so welcoming and close to the beliefs I was raised with, so it has a sense of familiarity.
Is there something about your life and upbringing you would consider unique?
My mom coached the women's Track team at LSU, so I grew up around the sport, the track facilities, and practices.
Who in your life inspires you and why are they such an inspiration?
Surya Bonaly is my favorite athlete of all time. She had the courage and ability to compete the way that she did even when those around her told her she wasn't good enough. She's part of why I love figure skating. My mom is also a huge inspiration; being near someone who was able to accomplish so much and also invest in me makes me believe in myself all the more and motivates me to work as hard as I can to achieve it.
What is your most memorable athletic moment/accomplishment?
Honestly, my entire senior year. I was able to accomplish everything I wanted to do athletically and academically.
If you picked your jersey/uniform number, why is that number important to you?
19; it was my number in high school and I was able to accomplish great things in it.
Do you have any relatives who are playing or have played college or professional sports? (Names, relation to you, what/where they played)?
My mom, Debbie Parris-Thymes, ran track at LSU before running professionally and competing internationally for Team Jamaica including in the Olympics. My dad, Derrick Thymes, ran track at LSU. My cousin, Jaala Thymes, ran track at Louisiana and currently runs for Virginia Tech. My cousin, Jakenzie Thymes, ran track at Dillard and Lamar. My cousin, Akiya Thymes, played softball at LSU.
Do you possess any special or unique talents, interests, or hobbies?
I love to rock climb (boulder), work on my singing voice, and I love to watch figure skating.
