An Inside Look from the Coaching Staff: Worked hard this spring to rehab from an injury … is a fast player and runs solid routes … coaching staff is looking for him to get stronger so he can improve on his blocking skills … had a breakout performance during the spring football game.

2010 (R-Jr.): Saw playing time in six games … receives starts against Ball State, Robert Morris and VMI … missed the last four games of the season with an injury … ranked fifth on the team with 208 receiving yards on 12 receptions … led the program with a 17.3 yards per catch average … finished with 66 all-purpose yards during Liberty’s upset victory over FBS opponent Ball State … had three catches for 46 yards and three rushing attempts for 20 yards … had a career game against Robert Morris with five receptions for 106 yards, becoming the 48th player in program history to record a 100-yard game … caught a 34-yard touchdown pass against Robert Morris, his first career touchdown catch … had two receptions for 45 yards against Savannah State.

2009 (R-So.): Saw playing time in all 11 games during his first season at Liberty … finished the year with six receptions for 124 yards … had the highest receiving average on the squad, averaging 20.7 yards per reception … caught three passes for 20 yards in Liberty’s road victory at Lafayette … finished with two receptions for 32 yards against West Virginia Wesleyan … caught a season-long pass of 46 yards in a Big South win over VMI … also added a solo tackle against the Keydets as part of Liberty’s special teams unit.

Previous School: Transferred to Liberty from Virginia Tech … had been with the Hokies since 2007 … redshirted his first year in Blacksburg and added depth to the Hokies’ 2008 Orange Bowl championship roster.

Prep: Graduated from Oakton High School … caught 35 passes for 450 yards as a senior, scoring five times on four receiving touchdowns and one rushing touchdown … as a defensive player, he picked off four passes and added two fumble recoveries … a dangerous return specialist, he returned seven kicks for a score, with three coming on punt returns and four on kickoff returns … earned second-team all-conference honors as a wide receiver and return specialist his senior year … garnered first-team all-district accolades at wide receiver, cornerback and return specialist … a finalist for the 2007 All-Gameday Player of the Year … named Oakton’s Male Athlete of the Year.

Personal: Son of Andrea Garner … cousin of former Pittsburgh Steelers standout Reggie Harrison, who helped the Steelers win two Super Bowl rings … birthday is on April 29 … criminal justice major … would like to be a homicide detective after graduation.
