Football Staff Responsibilities:
- Oversee the spiritual development of the football players by encouraging the student-athletes to understand who they are in Christ and to use their God-given talents to impact others through Whole-Person Development
- Responsible for setting up team chapels and discipleship programs
- Developing one-on-one relationships with coaches, support staff, players and others outside the football program
- Serves as the liaison between the University's Office of Student Affairs and the football program
- Member of the Athletics Department’s Champions Performance team
Flames Football Highlights (Coaching Staff):
- Senior member of Liberty’s football coaching staff, working with the program since 2001
- Helped the Flames win eight Big South Conference titles at the FCS level (2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2016)
- Part of Liberty's football staff that appeared in six-straight FBS bowl games, including wins in the Cure Bowl (2019 and 2020) and LendingTree Bowl (2021)
- Helped Liberty win its first-ever FBS conference championship in 2023 when the Flames went 8-0 in Conference USA play and defeated New Mexico State in the CUSA Football Championship game
- Part of Liberty's first-ever New Year's Six Bowl game appearance when No. 23 Liberty squared off against No. 8 Oregon in the Vrbo Fiesta Bowl
Road to Liberty University Football:
- Dean of Commuting Students – Liberty (1996-2000)
- Helped the university’s commuting students connect with on-campus life
- Associate Pastor – New Bedford, Mass. (1986-95)
- Also served as chaplain for the local police force during his pastoral tenure and board member with the Kiwanis Club and local Y.M.C.A in New Bedford

- Graduate of Liberty University (1976, 1985 and 2007)
- B.S. in Youth Ministries
- Completed his seminary degree in 1985
- Received his Doctorate of Ministry degree at Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary in 2007
- Three-year starting point guard on the men’s basketball team (1974-76)
- Liberty’s single season record holder with 256 assists and 137 steals during his senior seasons
- Liberty’s all-time leader with 300 career steals and ranks fifth on the school's all-time list with 476 assists
- Author of " Building A Legacy and Discipleship for Student Athletes", a discipleship manual and guide for coaches, parents and leaders to cultivate and shape relationships with the next generation
- A member of the pastoral staff at Thomas Road Baptist Church
