Bio
Student-Athlete Q&A
What made Liberty University the right place for you to attend college/compete at the collegiate level?
The university’s commitment to Christianity & righteousness, plus the excellent team camaraderie provides me the best place to succeed while helping others around me do the same.
Is there anything special you do pregame or postgame and why?
I sit, close my eyes, play calm music, and dissociate for a while. It helps calm the nerves and allows me to fall back on the hours of training leading to the moment. I play free instead of tense.
Who in your life inspires you and why are they such an inspiration?
My brother, he is always rational minded yet charismatic and empathetic at the same time. He will always work to make a problem right while providing a steady shoulder to lean on.
What is your most memorable athletic moment/accomplishment?
Getting offered to play here at Liberty and getting that second chance to truly make my mark for the first time.
If you picked your jersey/uniform number, why is that number important to you?
I picked #65 because it is the number I wore my senior year of high school, which was my breakout season. I am looking to do the same with the number again, but this time in college to get a shot at the pros.
Do you have any relatives who are playing or have played college or professional sports? (Names, relation to you, what/where they played)?
Max Hairston – Cousin, played at Kentucky, drafted 1st round to Buffalo Bills. Taiwan Jones – Cousin, played for Michigan State, played for the NY Jets for a couple seasons, then for the LA Wildcats.
Favorite meal (breakfast/lunch/dinner) and what is that special meal?
Lunch: Mac n cheese with a side of spicy wings.
What is the first app you check on your phone each day?
Weather app to prepare and see how hot the practice/game of the day will be.
What is your favorite hobby outside of athletics?
Enjoying nature, walking, kayaking, being in or sitting by water, and motorcycle riding.
Do you have any current pets (name and type of animal)?
2 family pets. Apollo and Luna, brother and sister, Siberian huskies.
Who was your favorite athlete growing up?
Bo Jackson, Cam Newton, Derrick Henry.
What is your favorite possession and why?
My ring. It says Bros for life ‘24, signifying the date we got them and how we will stay close forever.
What is your Go-To karaoke song?
Joan - I Loved You First or Shaboozey - My Fault
What is your dream vacation spot and why?
Jamaica. Nice people, laid back vibe, sunny, warm, beautiful beaches, and has that island community feel. Everyone looks out for one another.
