Time now for today's Liberty Flames Minute! Brought to you by Select Bank for this Wednesday, May 15, 2024, I'm Nick Pierce.
The Flames golf team is in 12th place after the first two rounds of the Stanford Regional. Tuesday, Liberty finished at 6-over for a second straight day. Individually, Ike Joy and Brett Reid each shot 1-over for the day. The Flames will tee it off again today at 12:25 Eastern.
On to baseball, Liberty's scheduled game at Wake Forest on Tuesday is cancelled. The Flames were set to take on the No. 8 Demon Deacons but rain washed the game out. Liberty returns home for it's final three regular season games against Louisiana Tech. The Conference USA series gets underway Thursday night at 6 p.m. Eastern.
And Liberty tennis players Deji Thomas-Smith and Esther Lovato have each been named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District men's and women's teams. Thomas-Smith has a 4.0 GPA in his MBA. Lovota has a 3.81 in her MBA.
