Flames Men's Basketball Coach Ritchie McKay has agreed to a contract extension with Liberty. The extension was announced Tuesday and runs through the 2030-31 season. McKay says he's grateful.
"I really feel like it's an honor to be here. I think, there's a lot of noise these days, like, maybe thinking the grass is greener somewhere else, or you can do this here or do that there, but I think what the Lord has done here has been really special and I'm incredibly privileged to be a part of it."
McKay became the Flames' all-time winningest head coach this year. Liberty is 23-6 on the season, it's eighth 20-win season in the last nine years under McKay.
To the scoreboard, Flames baseball gets a win on the road. Tuesday, Liberty topped Campbell, 4-1. The Flames got home runs from Jaxon Sorenson and Tucker Moore.
And in softball, the Lady Flames win streak is now at five. Tuesday, Liberty edged James Madison, 2-1 in Lynchburg.
