Time now for Today's Liberty Flames Minute! Brought to you by Select Bank for this Wednesday, July 10, 2024, I'm Nick Pierce.
Liberty is one of eight men's basketball programs invited to play in this year's Paradise Jam in the Virgin Islands. The 25th edition of the tournament will take place November 22nd through the 25th at the University of the Virgin Islands. Flames guard Kaden Metheny says he's looking forward to another road trip with his teammates.
"Those are awesome times. Like, the Myrtle Beach trip last year was awesome – not only because we won it but also just the times off the court, the comradery that we built, those are the memories that are going to last a lifetime and we understand that. Obviously, being in the sun in 90 degree weather is also a bonus (laughs), so, that always helps."
Liberty's first game at the Paradise Jam will be against Louisiana on November 22nd. Other teams in the event include McNeese, UAB and Longwood – all NCAA Tournament teams from last year – and K State, which made the NIT.
