Time now for Today's Liberty Flames Minute! Brought to you by Select Bank for this Wednesday, December 20, 2023, I'm Nick Pierce.
Flames football continues it's preparations for the Vrbo Fiesta Bowl. Undefeated at 13-0 and ranked 23rd in the nation, Liberty will meet eighth-ranked Oregon at State Farm Stadium in Arizona on New Year's Day. The ducks are 17.5 point favorites over the Flames. But Liberty's Aaron Bedgood says he's embracing the underdog status.
"It just is what it is. I mean, we're a football team and we put our pants on the same way that they do. It's been a while since I've played in a football game where pretty much 95 percent of the people think that you can't win it. So, I mean really, we're coming from a place where we have no pressure on us and they have more pressure on them. I trust our team as much as anybody in the country. As long as we come to play our game, I think we can beat anybody."
Coming up today, the Lady Flames basketball team is back at home as Liberty hosts Grand Canyon at two o'clock. Then tonight, the Liberty men visit Utah Valley. Tipoff coming at eight eastern in Salt Lake City. You can hear both games on www.LibertyFlames.com and the Liberty Flames mobile app.
