This is your Liberty Flames Minute! Brought to you by Select Bank for this Wednesday, August 9, 2023, I'm Nick Pierce.
The Lady Flames soccer team is on the road today as Liberty faces Old Dominion in an exhibition. Game time's at four p.m. in Norfolk. Flames goalkeeper Ainsley Leja says the team is ready to play an actual opponent.
"I think we're all pretty excited, especially being our first game. I know we have a lot of newcomers this year, so, to see them all play and get in with the team will be fun."
Leja returns after posting an ASUN record ten shutouts last year. Liberty joins Conference USA this fall. Your first chance to see the Lady Flames at home is this Saturday in an exhibition against Virginia Tech.
And we're now just 24 days away from kickoff. Liberty opens the season at home against Bowling Green on September 2nd. Kickoff's set for 12 Noon and the game will be on CBS Sports Network.
