Time now for Today's Liberty Flames Minute! Brought to you by Select Bank for this Wednesday, August 7, 2024, I'm Nick Pierce.
Flames football is now through six fall practices and the last two have been in full pads. After a monster year last season, quarterback Kaidon Salter says he's working on becoming more of a vocal leader for his teammates.
"Everybody knows I lead in a different way. I'm not as vocal as a leader should be but I've been kind of coming out of that little phase and being very vocal this year. Just trying to say more to the team so they know that I'm all in for them."
Salter is on this year's preseason watch lists for the Maxwell Award and the Walter Camp Award after throwing 32 touchdown passes last year and adding 12 more rushing TDs. Players are off today. The Flames practice again on Thursday afternoon.
And we're now just 24 days away from kickoff! Liberty hosts Campbell in the season opener on August 31st.
