With less than two weeks until the season opener, Liberty football defensive coordinator Skyler Magee says evaluating his defense has been challenging at times throughout fall camp.
"It's been tough. One because the things that we're seeing from our offense is not what you're going to see from other teams in this league. So, we're trying to prepare them for everything. Obviously, knowing that we're not going to see a lot of option football and it's tough for us because there's certain defenses that we can't run against them. But we try to grade everything off of effort and how hard we play getting to the ball."
The Flames return just three starters on defense from a unit that led the nation in tackles for loss last year. You can hear more from Coach Magee on the defense and the D-line on www.LibertyFlames.com.
And we're now just 10 days away from Flames football. Liberty opens the season at home against Bowling Green on Saturday, September 2nd. Game time is 12 Noon. The game will be on CBS Sports Network.
