This is your Liberty Flames Minute! Brought to you by Select Bank for this Wednesday, August 16, 2023, I'm Nick Pierce.
The Flames men's basketball non-conference schedule includes games against five NCAA Tournament teams from last year. The schedule was announced Tuesday and one of those tournament teams will come to Lynchburg when Grand Canyon visits Liberty on December 9th. Liberty will also face Alabama, FAU, Furman and Charleston. The Flames will open the season at home on November 6th against Mid-Atlantic Christian.
Liberty is the preseason favorite to win the inaugural Ohio Valley Conference men's soccer title. The preseason poll was announced Tuesday and the Flames received eight of 16 first place votes.
And adjust your calendars, Flames football Fan Appreciation Day is moving to Friday. The scrimmage will now start at five o'clock. There'll still be inflatables for kids, fans can still meet the team for autographs and pictures after the scrimmage and admission to Williams Stadium is free. That's this Friday at 5 p.m.
