Starting with baseball, Tuesday night Charlotte edged Liberty, 5-3 in Charlotte, N.C. Flames DH Michael Gibson had two hits and drove in two runs in his first start. Liberty returns home Friday to start a three-game Conference USA series against Middle Tennessee.
On to softball – the 20th ranked Lady Flames are in Blacksburg tonight for a midweek game at No. 11 Virginia Tech. First pitch is at 6 p.m. Both teams boast long winning streaks. Liberty's won eight in a row entering tonight. Virginia Tech has won nine straight. You can hear the live play-by-play tonight on the Liberty Flames mobile app and www.LibertyFlames.com.
And the Flames men's tennis team is at UNC Wilmington today for a two o'clock match. The Flames are seeking their second win over the Seahawks in the all-time series. UNCW has won eight of the previous nine.
