Quarterback Kaidon Salter is 1-0 as the Flames starter this year. Salter earned the job out of fall camp and the coaching staff says his preparation has drastically improved since the spring. Salter says for him it's about blocking out the distractions.
"Just had to lock in more on football. Was letting some outside things get to me where I was – rather handle that business than watching film and stuff. So, now I'm just strictly football – just watching extra film, meeting with the coaches, know what I've got to do every play, executing so we can go out and win games."
In the win over Bowling Green Saturday, Salter threw for 143 yards and two touchdowns, while rushing for 82 yards with no turnovers.
And Liberty volleyball's Kamryn Baccus is the Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week and teammate Madison Blane is the Defensive Player of the Week. The duo helped the Lady Flames go 3-0 at Army's Black Knights Invitational last week.
