This is your Liberty Flames Minute! Brought to you by Select Bank for this Tuesday, September 26, 2023, I'm Nick Pierce.
For a second straight week, Flames football quarterback Kaidon Salter is the Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week. In last Saturday's 38-6 win at FIU, Salter accounted for 233 total yards and four of the flames' five touchdowns.
Salter and the Flames are now 4-0 on the year but the defense has shined too. Liberty leads the nation with 12 turnovers and ten interceptions. Head Coach Jamey Chadwell likes the progress he's seen in his team.
"We're getting better each week. If our defense will play like that and we clean up what we do offensively, we'll continue to get better and continue to march towards a Conference USA Championship."
Liberty is off this weekend before it hosts Sam Houston in a conference game next Thursday night.
And a reminder, we're just 41 days away from Flames basketball. The Liberty men's and women's teams open at home on Monday, November 6th.
