Former Liberty football quarterback Malik Willis has his first win as a starter in the NFL. Sunday, Willis led the Green Bay Packers to a 16-10 win over the Indianapolis Colts at Lambeau Field. This comes just three weeks after Willis was traded by the Tennessee Titans to Green Bay for a seventh round draft pick.
"I'm just grateful for God giving me another opportunity somewhere different, a clean slate. Just giving me an opportunity to be around guys who helped me get going in these past three weeks, as far as just learning as much as I can, and guys in that locker room who are behind you, you know, whoever is starting, and just continuing to have that confidence in you – it builds and helps you go out and be yourself."
Willis completed 12-of-14 passes for 122 yards and added his first career touchdown pass. No word yet if Packers starter Jordan Love will return from injury this week, ironically, when the Packers face the Titans in Nashville.
