Time now for Today's Liberty Flames Minute! Brought to you by Select Bank for this Tuesday, September 10, 2024, I'm Nick Pierce.
After Saturday's conference win at New Mexico State, Liberty defensive end CJ Bazile is the CUSA Defensive Player of the Week and kicker Colin Karhu is the Special Teams Player of the Week. Bazile had a 22-yard fumble recovery for a touchdown in the fourth quarter and also added six tackles. Karhu made three of his four field goal attempts, including a 39-yarder.
2-0 Liberty returns home to host 0-2 UTEP in a Conference USA game this Saturday at 6 p.m. It'll also be Homecoming on Liberty Mountain.
And Liberty volleyball middle blocker Madison Blane is the Conference USA Defensive Player of the Week. Blane averaged 1.8 blocks per set in three matches for Liberty at Navy's Kristen Dickmann Invitational last week. The Lady Flames went 2-1 in the event. Blane and the Lady Flames will play at NC State on Wednesday at four o'clock.
