Time now for Today's Liberty Flames Minute! Brought to you by Select Bank for this Tuesday, October 15, 2024, I'm Nick Pierce.
Starting with men's tennis – where Liberty takes home the ITA Atlantic Region Doubles Championship. Monday in Norfolk, Va., Liberty newcomers Joaquim Almeida and Siwanat Auytayakul claimed the event title – the first in program history. With the win, both Almeida and Auytayakul qualify for the individual NCAA Doubles Championship tournament, that begins November 19th in Waco, Texas.
To swimming and diving – the Lady Flames are 2-2 to start the season. Liberty split a pair of tri-meets, hosted by Air Force. Liberty beat Omaha on back-to-back days, Friday and Saturday. Next, Liberty will welcome Tulane to Lynchburg for a two-day meet this Friday and Saturday.
And Flames football is enjoying a bye week as the team looks to get healthy. Liberty is 5-0 and plays next at Kennesaw State in a Conference USA game, Wednesday, October 23rd in Atlanta.
