Liberty's Calli Doan caps her marvelous track & field career at the U.S. Olympic Team trials with a 27th place finish in the steeplechase semifinals. Monday night in Eugene, Ore., Doan clocked a time of 10:01.77, short of the 9:33.91 she would've needed to advance to finals on Thursday. Doan finishes as a three-time All-American and Liberty's all-time record holder in the steeplechase.
Four Lady Flames are scheduled to compete in the USA Field Hockey events next month. Reagan Underwood, Maddie Stevens and Avery Pollock have been invited to the USA Senior Nexus Championship and Ava Murphy has been invited to the U-21 Junior Nexus Championship. The events will take place July 14-16 in Virginia Beach. Collegiate and post-collegiate athletes across the nation compete in the Senior NXC, which is a step along the Olympic development pathway program.
