Time now for Today's Liberty Flames Minute! Brought to you by Select Bank for this Tuesday, July 2, 2024, I'm Nick Pierce.
Liberty's football season opener is now less than two months away and players continue preparing for the year with summer workouts. Safety Brylan Green returns for his junior season and says right now he's focused on helping the newcomers fit in with the team.
"Honestly, just doing things off the field, going to their cribs - they're coming to mine and we're going to eat pizza or just joking around. Trying to get them acclimated to being in college, because I know when I was in college at first, you know, being away from home was a bit of a task. So, making this feel like home as much as possible and being there for them. Hopefully they come through every day and go to work."
Last year, Green's five interceptions were tied for the sixth most in the nation. Liberty will host Campbell in the season opener on Saturday, August 31st at Williams Stadium in Lynchburg. Kickoff's set for 6 p.m. Eastern.
