Time now for today's Liberty Flames Minute! Brought to you by Select Bank for this Tuesday, February 20, 2024, I'm Nick Pierce.
Liberty's Asia Boone is once again the Conference USA Women's Basketball Freshman of the Week. It's the eighth time this year Boone has received the award. Boone had 14 points, three made three's and eight rebounds in Liberty's 86-56 win over Sam Houston, last Saturday. Boone and the Lady Flames will host FIU in another CUSA match-up on Thursday night.
Liberty's men will look to get back in the win column this week when the team travels to FIU on Thursday. Liberty's tied for fourth place in the conference but just three games out of first and 2.5 games out of third. Thursday's game in Miami tips off at seven p.m. Eastern.
And we're just 11 days away from Liberty's annual Spring Football game. Fans can come get an early look at the 2024 Flames, next Saturday, March 2nd at Williams Stadium in Lynchburg. The scrimmage starts at 1:30 and admission is free.
