Time now for Today's Liberty Flames Minute! Brought to you by Select Bank for this Tuesday, December 24, 2024, I'm Nick Pierce.
Flames football is headed to the Bahamas Bowl, it's sixth straight bowl game. Liberty did fall short of winning another conference title or having another undefeated season. Athletics Director Ian McCaw on the team's accomplishments versus expectations.
"You have to tune out some of the external expectations because that's not really what we focus on but you know, certainly our team had goals. Some of them were realized. Some of them weren't. I thought we got off to a good start this season. We ran into a really unfortunate situation with the cancellation of the App State game. I think that was disruptive and kind of got us out of our rhythm."
"We had some very long stretches between that cancellation and the mid-week transition that I think did not put our football team in the best situation to be competitive. Overall, 8-3 season, a lot of programs around the country would be thrilled to have that. Just really proud of Coach Chadwell, the staff and the student-athletes."
