Time now for Today's Liberty Flames Minute! Brought to you by Select Bank for this Tuesday, December 12, 2023, I'm Nick Pierce.
Liberty football safety Brylan Green is an All-American. Monday, Green was named to the Football Writers Association of America's second team, becoming the first Flames player to receive that honor at the FBS level. Green's five interceptions are the fifth most in the nation. Green and the 23rd ranked Liberty Flames are preparing to face No. 8 Oregon in the Vrbo Fiesta Bowl on New Year's Day.
On to women's hoops, Liberty guard Asia Boone is again the Conference USA Freshman of the Week. It's the second straight week the San Diego native has received the honor. Boone averaged 15.5 points in games against Towson and third-ranked NC State in the last week. Boone and the Lady Flames return to action tomorrow night when Liberty hosts Radford at 6 p.m.
That'll be the first game of a doubleheader at Liberty Arena in Lynchburg. Liberty's men will also host Tennessee State after the women's game.
