Lady Flames' goalkeeper Ainsley Leja is one of the United Soccer Coaches Association's Players to Watch in 2023. Leja is one of nine goalkeepers on the list. Last year, Leja was the ASUN Goalkeeper of the Year and a first-team all-conference player. She averaged a program record 0.62 goals against for the season and led the ASUN with ten shutouts. Leja and the Lady Flames will open the year with an exhibition at Old Dominion on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
Media availability is canceled this week for Flames football as the program is mourning the recent loss of freshman offensive lineman Tahj Boyd. Head Coach Jamey Chadwell was originally slated to meet with the media today. He will now do that on Friday.
And we're now just 25 days away from kickoff. Liberty opens the season at home against Bowling Green on September 2nd. Kickoff's set for 12 Noon and the game will be on CBS Sports Network.
