This is your Liberty Flames Minute! Brought to you by Select Bank for this Tuesday, August 29, 2023, I'm Nick Pierce.
The Flames men's soccer team moves to 2-0 with a win at home on Monday night. Liberty downed Belmont Abbey, 3-1 at Osborne Stadium. Gabe Findley and Luke Eberle had goals on corner kicks and Michael Huss also scored in the 90th minute. Next Liberty travels to UMBC on Friday.
A major, in-state field hockey showdown is set for today, as 14th ranked Liberty visits No. 6 Virginia. Game time is 5 p.m. in Charlottesville. Liberty's looking for it's first win over UVA since 2018. Today's game is on ACC Network Extra.
Liberty volleyball senior Delaney Dilfer is the Conference USA Setter of the Week. After helping the Lady Flames go 3-0 over the weekend, Dilfer is ranked sixth in the nation with 12 assists per set.
And we're now just four days away from Flames football. Liberty opens the season at home against Bowling Green this Saturday at 12 noon.
