Time now for Today's Liberty Flames Minute! Brought to you by Select Bank for this Tuesday, August 20, 2024, I'm Nick Pierce.
The Flames men's soccer team continues it's preparations for the start of the regular season. Liberty will open the year at home against Mount Olive on Thursday night at 7:30. The Flames return an experienced roster, including defender Bryce Swinehart, who says he's ready to get the season started.
"It's so exciting. There's nothing quite like getting back out here. Everyone's rolling in from the summer. It's just shaping up for an unbelievable season. This is probably the highest intensity we've had in my three years here, so, just looking forward and expecting an unbelievable season."
Admission is free to Thursday's season opener at Osborne Stadium.
Flames Head Football Coach Jamey Chadwell is set to address the media today after Saturday's scrimmage. We're now just 11 days away from kickoff! Liberty will host Campbell next Saturday, August 31st at Williams Stadium in Lynchburg. Kickoff's at 6 p.m. Eastern.
